Title: Favorite Christmas Song (or Holiday song)?
Post by: Cynthia on December 16, 2008, 11:36:16 PM
I'll Be Home for Christmas

I like the original lyrics;

"You can "PLAN" on that...

Presents "ON" the tree.

There are so many favorites we all grew up with as kids, D.

As much as Bing Crosby was "Daddy dearest", his version of White Christmas and so many other classics warms the heart, I must say.

What the hell.....this is the season for love, music, and celebration.

I say we all 'dig in' and enjoy.

C*

Looking forward to the choices from folks on board...or not. LOL.

one doesn't have to believe in Xmas to chime in on this one, btw.

Music....the savior of the soul. ;)

Fatman, that is one of my favorites too.

My all-time favorite never fails to make me cry (year after year - not sure why :))

That's another good one Henny.  O Holy Night, Greensleeves, O Come O Come Emmanuel, and We Three Kings are all favorites of mine.  I tend to like the minor chords for Christmas.

One of my favorites has always been the Ukrainian Bell Carol. I got to listen to this guy play it on a real carillon a few weeks ago. This video is not so good...

Here's a better version of it (but by someone else):

Thanks Rich.  I, unfortunately, left God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen off of the list, and it's another of my favorites.

As for the Ave Maria, I do really like Pavarotti's version, but I like Bocelli's version better.  Either one is great though.

I like Bocelli's version better, as well. Fatman.

Sometimes it's so hard to JUST PICK ONE, eh;)
