been thinking about immigration and national security and one flaw I see is how can it stop terrorist who enter as tourist. a tourist has way less stringent process and can`t realisticly get more strict
Kimba, you've touched on a frequent theme of the left.....1 employed on so many topics & issues facing this country. You're absolutely right, given the hypothetical you've referenced. Now, I know you didn't make this reference with a leftist agenda in mind, but notice how its used by the left:
We can't build a wall, because it won't stop "all" illegal immigration
We can't build any nuclear plants, because it won't solve "all" our energy issues.
same argument used in that We can't build any new oil platforms, because it'll take upwards of 10years to turn that crude into any substantive refined oil
So many other examples I could bring about.....all of them largely true. But it's an effort (not that you're trying to do so) to deflect from the issue at hand. Nothing proposed will solve "all" of anything. The issue is what CAN be implemented that is both practical & Constitutional?....and that CAN provide significant improvement in our lives & security, without stomping on our liberties & rights?
So, how do we address your hypothetical, regarding a would be Islamic terrorist, posing as a tourist? Obviously, they didn't come in with some manner of firearms & explosives. Would they have been in contact with some terrorist cell, that might be being monitored by the FBI? That didn't work so well with the Boston bombers or San Bernadino shooters. What would you propose?
