How much money is the minimum one must have to live above squalor?

This depends on where one lives and how much you have to pay for housing. Food prices also vary quite a bit from one part of the country to another.

15-18K should do it for me.It's amazing what you can do without, once you do without it.

I was under 15K for the year of 2003 but I barely made it.

Things got better immediately when the divorce finalised.
