I will bet anything that they will continue to say that they just HAVE to pay that much for the expertise the CEO brings.

Roger Smith was CEO of GM for many years.

Each and every year, GM made crappy cars. This was in the 1980's, when all their cars were pretty much identical.

Each and every year GM lost market share.

Each and every year, Roger got a fat raise, double or more what a line worker got paid for doing actual labor.
