as someone whose being doing it on and off I agree. but it`s super hard to do and very very easy to give up on. I used it when i was in the ICU for 7 days and learned a new trick. it`s extremely difficult and my weaken body actually help me acheived it. I was able to sort of cut off from my body and get abit of increased brain function. not easy to do when healthy, much too distracting. it`s like a glimps of what it`s like to be stephen hawkins.

Do you think that there "Nural Plasticity" is real?
That is can an adult human brain be substantially changed by practice and meditation?

I thought it was a given
I didn`t know it was still in the speculation stage. I remember this topic decades ago in the scientific juornals. but meditation was not mentioned then.

Remember good old fashion mental activity effect those canals on the brain so it really not that strange for meditation to do the same.
But as I always point out meditation is not easy.

A meditation teacher I had said to me, "meditation isn't that difficult, but trying to meditate is hell".
A good take on Buddhism and science:

I think that goes for everybody. Even these monks who meditate for hours on end don't just get there like magic everyday. As you said, it's very hard work, and the work never ends. But, if you hang in there the rewards are quite remarkable.

I like the fact I don`t need to bring books with me on my vacation anymore. meditation is more than I need to pass the time on long trips. I just wish I remember to use this when I have sleeping problems. I tend to be too upset to remember trying this.
