Space force
« on: August 11, 2018, 01:36:22 AM »
In 2011 NASA shutdown it manned space program and quickly noticed what a mistake that was. We still havent got a man in space since then. Recently spacex announced delays on its program. These factors does not look good compared to rival contries being more active thsn us going into space . These countries do not give impression of honoring thier agreement to not weaponized spacetravel.
I blame the people not the government on this one since continuesly i keep hearing that money can be better used simewhere else. But that funding was so small it had no impact and NASA pretty much paid back its funding from the research it does.

I think this is actually a roundabout way of financing the space program. What NASA gets compared to the DoD is a rounding error. A military space program is going to get a considerably more friendly reception in congress.

The problem is military research is notoriously slow and might deny funding for things like shrimp tail studies. That sounds like a waste of time but shrimp tails of certain species can crack shells of great density which potentially can be apply to armor technology. But it can easily have no use at all also. This is an example of the risk the military would not risk researching and why its very slow in innovation.

as long as government funded research without military oversite in NASA can be done. It`s sounds stupid but that division makes money and actually helps the country. example - elon musk
