Question for BT and the Whole Board
« on: July 12, 2007, 09:11:01 PM »
I do some freelance writing other than here, and I often remark to myself how well many posters can nail an issue or an aspect of an issue. This leads me to wonder what are the rules governing reproduction? Is the board the copyright owner or is each individual poster owner of his own, or, once published here, do the offerings become public domain as if uttered, for example, at a news conference? One could even use a "plot" hatched and partly developed here as the spine for a short story. Any thoughts?

Each individual post is copyrighted (automatically) by the writer.

The collection is copyrighted by BT.

As such, you should get the permission of both.

(Works pretty much the same as my mail lists, I did the research on it a few years ago.)
