It's the least we can do considering our all knowing government that supposedly can do it all is absent from stopping the largest environmental crises the USA has ever experienced. Thank you Barry for all your efforts. Oh don't worry about me just get back to your $16,000 bowl of caviar and the gushing oil will somehow just stop and then you can get back to ruining the economy. No doubt your little friends would be much happier with a ruined economy over a ruined Gulf region.
My idea would be to take large pipes and connect them together and place one end over the hole. This pipe should be large enough to surround the entire existing hole. After the pipe extends above the water surface then cap it off.
