He's trying to persuade everybody that he really isn't who he really is.He's beset by polling numbers that continue to fall. Everything he does makes it worse. He's fleeing Washington's chattering class, and he'll run into the crying class on the road. The president has...

Just more generalized griping and bitching about Obama from a traditionally right-wing newspaper that uses an Asian reporter to trash a black President so that the real reasons for hating Obama (racism) can be better obscured.

The total dismissal of his (admittedly flawed) accomplishments - - "most Americans don't like them" - - was particularly hilarious.  Who are "most Americans" - - the editorial staff of the Washtimes or the Moonies who pay their salaries?

People like me are very disillusioned with Obama, sure, but at the end of the day, the recourse of the disillusioned still comes down to a  totally fictitious and illusory choice between only two very carefully vetted alternatives.  What do Republicans have to offer besides a repeat of the failed policies that led to the 2008 election results in the first place?  More to the point, who the hell is going to believe in any more promises of hope and change after Obama's miserable performance?  People will be chosen on the basis of past performance - - if Obama's was disappointing, the Republicans have been totally disastrous.

Every president should endeavor to take his proposals and how he plans to accomplish them to the people. If he can do this better with a teleprompter, he should take the teleprompter as well. Perhaps in the 1920's people were criticized for using microphones or automobiles. No president can please everyone, and it is no surprise that Obama cannot hope to please Kramer.

Juniorbush's Social Security proposals were not so great, but it was the right thing to do to take them on the road to see what the people thought.

American politics is like the soup choice at the local South Garden Chinese Restaurant: egg drop or won ton. You can have Democrats, who are occasionally right, or Republicans, who stopped being right around 1959. If you prefer sweet and sour or clam chowder, you are SOL.

But at least when the President tells you about the two choices, he is doing his job, just like the menu at South Garden.
"Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana."
