They said they bought Toxie at a discount: the sign in the cartoon suggested 99% off, which would make a $1000 investment only $10. And yet they said they lost $500, which suggests that they bought her for $500, plus I assume, some sort of commission.
Still, it was entertaining, if not precisely accurate.
