The bigger question is do you think the current administration could pull off something as daring as faking Bin Ladens death.

I think the career operations folks in the departments most likely tasked with that type of job could.

That's not the bigger question, BT. The bigger question has always been is capturing bin Laden worth the problems we would be forced to confront. The answer to that question is, and always has been, no.

They played it the only way you could have played it. No capture, no body, no grave, no photo. Kill him, dump his body in the ocean.

When it is more likely than not that someone is armed with a bomb and is motivated to suicide how does a guy with a rifle or pistol cope with the threat?

Just killing Bin Laden seems to make more sense.

He admitted what he did, and threatened to do even more.

Capturing him would have caused far more problems that just shooting him.

I do not normally favor the death penalty, but when the victims number in the thousands, I can make an exception.

If think the consensus here is that his capture ( even if covered by the false flag of his apparent shooting and burying at sea) co0uld not be kept secret in this day and age of the fast buck and lucrative book deal.
