Perry: ‘Stand up’ and ‘stop apologizing’
By Domenico Montanaro, Political Reporter, NBC News

NEW ORLEANS -- Rick Perry delivered an unapologetically socially conservative speech before a friendly crowd here.

“We need to stop apologizing for celebrating life,” the Republican Texas governor bellowed at the Republican Leadership Conference in a finger-pointing, finger-wagging and, at times, bombastic, speech.

“Stop apologizing” for wanting to stem the tide of the “entitlement mindset,” he boasted.

“Our opponents on the left are never going to like us, so let’s stop trying to curry favor with them,” he said, before imploring the crowd to “stand up. Let’s speak with pride about our values. Let’s stop this American downward spiral.”

He acknowledged later with a smile, “I’m preaching to the choir here."

Perry did not address the speculation surrounding his potential run for president and did not take questions after his speech. Instead, after bounding off the stage to chants of, “Run, Rick, run,” pumping his fists, and shaking hands with audience members, he headed backstage and did not reemerge in the hallways here.

Of all the speakers of the three-day confab, Perry was the best-received, even more so than Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), who was a close second. Perry got a standing ovation when he took the stage, several times during his speech, and at the end.

“He’s the man,” one man said to a woman right after Perry’s speech.

“Him and Bachmann,” she responded. “That’s the ticket.”

i'm not so sure about Perry
i can tell you he's not super popular here in Texas
yeah he gets reelected...but Texas isn't going to elect a Taxocrat Gov
(at least until the illegal invasion has more time to change our country)
Perry is right about most of the issues....
But Perry sometimes comes across kind of arrogant
Lots of women I know cant stand him...and they really cant tell ya why...they just don't like him
I dunno....he's risky as far as being able to beat Obozo
We must choose someone that can beat Obozo and the Leftwing Media

What a joke. The Republicans don't have the stomach for cutting entitlements any more than the Democrats do.

What a bunch of clowns. None of them, Democrats, or Republicans, can see any further than their own re-election. What is astounding is all the sheep falling in line playing the partisan game right along with Washington and believing any of it will do a bit of good. They're just playing you. ChristiansRless, Sirs,  and little WeWe, just blab the conservative line as it's feed to them. Democrats do the same thing. Reagan said, it's morning in America. Obama mumbled something like, the audacity of hope.  There isn't a dimes worth of difference.  Either slogan plus a $1.56 will get you a cup of coffee.

"Remember the example of an old cow:
She's content to sleep in a barn.

You have to eat, sleep and shit
That's unavoidable
Anything beyond that is none of your
business.

Do what you have to do
And keep yourself to yourself"

I wasn't aware of that.

Maybe Ron  Paul. Hey have you ever heard of a father son presidency? Ron & Rand for President and VP. I want a winner...

To me it just seems so easy to beat Obama. I think the more Conservative the candidate is the better their chances of winning.

The facts are the more conservative the Republican is the less chance he/she will have in the general election.  The radical wings of the parties sell newspapers, books, and get on TV, but they don't get elected. Of course most of us know that.

ChristiansRless, no one said anything about Bush. No one said anything about the Supreme Court. What I said was there wasn't a dimes worth of difference between the two slogans....... Reagan's, and Obama's.

I'm sorry, though, next time I'll put in some pictures of a few Aircraft Carries. That should help you follow along.

I think the more Conservative the candidate is the better their chances of winning.

===============================================================
In that case, David Duke is still probably ready, willing and able to bring in a GOP landslide.

Why does David Duke strike you as a conservative sort?

Get serious! He opposes Communists and evil foreigners of all types. He agrees with Ron Paul that the Civil Rights Bill should never have been passed. And he agrees with Kramer on everything.

Do you like communists evil foreigners of all types? Many innocent people have died as a result of evil people. I doubt he
agrees with Kramer on everything but surely they could find some common ground on something and it appears they have
when it comes to evil people.

Do you like evil people, if so could, you name some that you look up to?

I think that Duke probably thinks nearly all foreigners as evil.
I do not like evil people, but I was not referring to those I think of as evil, but those who David Duke thinks of as evil.

He is as Conservative as they come. Everyone more Conservative is most likely in an institution for psychopaths.
