Warehouse 13

This is a clever series on the Syfy channel, which you can see on Hulu. The premise is that the government has a huge warehouse filled with historic treasures somewhere in South Dakota. It is run by an interesting bunch of characters and has several Fox and Mulder type agents that find objects that have psychic energy that is disrupting the peace and they go out and retrieve them.

There are a lot of intriguing cool steampunk type artifacts that are used by the agents, such as a Tesla zap gun and a Farnsworth mobile phone.

The science behind the various items is totally bogus. The US government, in my opinion, would have no real reason to steal and replace the guillotine blade used to behead Marie Antoinette from a French museum. Nor would the French guard it like the Topkapi treasures. Things cannot get charges up with psychic energy just because they have come in contact with some ancient celebrity. But it does make for an interesting series. The cast members are even quirkier than on the X-Files, and it is fun to watch.

Presumably, there have been 13 warehouses filled with such dangerous artifacts. Warehouse 2 is hidden in sand dunes near Alexandria. (Except that there are no such dunes close to Alexandria). They have not revealed where Warehouse One is. Mycenae, perhaps, maybe somewhere in Israel.

I imagine that the idea for the series originated with that final scene of Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark, in which the Ark was hidden away in some government warehouse.
