Did the advice get heeded and followed?

Did the advisors offer no bond or garuntee for quality of advice?

Fannie Mae was flown into terrain the pilot and navigator ought to be explaining their  choices, including hte high priced advice.

That seems like a lot of pay for a little advice.

But not as fantastic as discarding the advice once paid so much for.

Considering that Fannie paid close to $200mil in consulting fees Newt's charges don't seem so high.

Isn't that $200mil in tax dollars?

Not necessarily. If it was post bailout maybe, pre bailout maybe not.

I think consultants are in the same league as lawyers. Results are not guaranteed.

???  How is Fannie & Freddie paid for?  It should be it either is or isn't paid for by tax dollars.  If its a Federal program/agency, by definition its supported with tax dollars.  Are you saying its not a Federal agency?

Rasmussen does not prove that Obama is a turd or that Newt is not a turd.

The election will take place in November of 2012. Many things, especially, but not limited to, third and fourth party candidates could happen between now and then. Newt has not received the GOP nomination, and this may never happen.

Prior to the bailout it was a government sponsored enterprise i'm not sure what its status is under receivership.

So if its Government sponsored, is that not supported with tax dollars?  If not, what else would be paying Fannie & Freddie?

Did you read the link? A government sponsored enterprise means it has a charter from the government to provide a product or service. It is/was privately owned. Just like the Federal Reserve.

Hey, what happened to President Cain?

As Barney Frank said, this couldn't be, I haven't lived a good enough life to have Newt as the Republican nominee.

Obama has probably proved himself unworthy of a second term, but geezus, this is the best the right can do? Newt "I'm a celebrity" Gingrich? Mitt "who can I please today" Romney?

It's a shame Cain has to deal with these Chicago distractions. The Obama folks obviously are scared shitless of black conservatives. But it ain't over til it's over. And yeah Newt's all cocky now, he doesn't wear it well.

Pride comes before a fall, and Newt always falls, often via a breakdown, often in spectacular, albeit embarrassing to watch, fashion.
