Well , it is probably good for everyone that Canada will tax them at 15% .

Who is it good for that if they stay they will be taxed 25% or 35%?

Congress needs to pass a law to prevent American companies from pretending not to be American companies.

Yea, that's the ticket, let's give even more incentive for businesses to either move now, or don't even start up to begin with.  Brilliant     ::)

How about a tax rate for corporations that is less than Irelands?

Or less than Spain , Italy, Germany ,Sweden, Russia, South Africa?

Why do our corporate taxes have to be more repellant to business than the corporate tax rates of Cuba?

Corporations benefit from the people of this nation and owe it to them to pay their goddamn taxes. If they want to pretend to be Irish, let them sell a bazillion burgers in Dublin and get the fuck out of the USA>

Or we could just kill the American company with unsupportable taxes and require the Canadian and Irish companies to fill our needs instead.

maybe the focus should be why companies are doing this . I live in California and it`s becoming part of life for businesses to leave here. only recently we finally made a local business from moving to texas. just saying the issue of saving money because of taxes may not be the only issue.

Burger King makes a profit now and pays American taxes. It is not being killed by taxes. That is a myth.

maybe the focus should be why companies are doing this .

It doesn't take much of a leap to ascertain the why.  Companies stay afloat if they make a profit.  The more profit, the more they can exmapnd, hire more employees, improve equipment, and compete with other like companies, thus facilitating a drive to do things better.

when you disincetivize, make things harder, make success a negative, by taxing them more, and regulating them more, you remove the reason for them even functioning.  If a business wants to survivie and improve, they have to shift their functions to a more tax friendly enviroment.  Unless of course, you get legislators to try and legislate them from doing what supply and demand creates.  California is a perfect example.  Folks may cite that our population is "growing", but that's not businesses expanding, that's illegal immigrants being given safe haven, and whalaaa, an even greater tax burden on the middle class and businesses.

In fact, I just heard this this AM.  California in general, and Los Angeles specifically functions to promote and support largely 3 entities
- Unions
- Developers
- Illegal Immigrants

And its businesses & the middle/upper class which functions as the ATM for the above 3.

They make more profit and the execs get huge raises. The stock proice goes up and those with stock options benefit. FLASH! they do not do this to hire more people.

FLASH, they do.....they expand, spread their franchises to more and more locations, which requires more and more people to hire...which in turn increases profit and the cycle continues

it`s not just money safeway has profited in san Francisco but has tried to pulled some of it`s branches out for over a decade and one branch is prevent by some made up zone requirement. the difficult business enviroment simply make it not worth the money. s.f. recent tried to get safeway to open a new branch but failed.

The GOAL of a company is and has always been to make more money. It is not now nor has it ever been to hire people, except perhaps in special cases like Goodwill or Ben & Jerry's.  Allowing companies to move their headquarters to avoid taxes simply causes a spiral toward the bottom. Eventually all boats are registered in Liberia and all businesses are headquartered under a tree in Zamboanga.
