John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States and the only president to serve in Congress subsequent to his presidency, often spoke out against slavery and famously defended the slaves in the mutiny trial of the Amistad.

His hatred of slavery led him to strong beliefs about Islam and its followers, in no small part because many of the slaves brought to America were purchased in markets run by "you guessed it" Muslims.

He got me thier. I've actually had talks about the subject of slavery with muslams and the ones I know don't actually have a problem with it.

Here's somethings i learned from those talks

Does not know hitler is not a good guy
Knows astronomy but think that when the end comes itwill be cause by god throwing the sun into the ocean.

Not saying all muslim think like that but the sampling that i hang with does.

The  Amistad belonged to Spaniards. Dlavery was legal in the US and only three of our first ten presidents did not own slaves. Sure, Muslims sucked in 1830. But so did lots and lots of Christians. +
I find the concept of God throwing the Sun into the ocean amusing.  Slavery was justified by LOVE, by the way, since by becoming slaves, they learned about Jeezuz.

Kimba there are about 29.8 million people living as slaves in the world right now.
There are an estimated 14 million slaves in India right now!

slaves or people in cultural servitude. I don`t see a difference but some folks will say different. this topic reminds me of a Robert Heinlein book.

  Yes , this would be hard to resolve without having a scholar of the Koran and the Bible in one person.

   Most people who study one , the other or both, have a favorite, without having a favorite there isn't enough motivation to evaluate that much reading.

How would one really line up the gestalt of one against the gestalt of the other?

Perhaps "by their fruit we shall know them"?
