No, we don't.

Most insurance does not cover it.

Yes, we do.....and you still haven't answered how you'd make someone undergo psychiatric treatment

Exactly right, which begs the question how would such "universal care" have PREVENTED Sandy Hook?

For that exact situation not likely but in the future if ever done universal preventative mental hearhcare. It would not stop someone from getting a gun but may make the person not want the gun.

We live in a more stressful times but unfortunately but we still think seeking mental help is a badthing. Only recently ptsd is not considered a lie for entlements.

But see, that's the point....NOTHING being proposed, be it new laws, or Universal Health care that includes the option of psychiatric care would have prevented ANY of the modern day mass shootings.

These are "reactionary" acts/legislation being pushed, that are unfortunately ideologically driven, using emotion of a tragedy, to try and push thru, when in truth, would have NOT prevented the mass shooting to begin with.  What they do accomplish is added layers of bureaucracy and impedence to law abiding citizens.....with the apparent goal of making it so hard and onerous, that the citizenry just give up trying

Here in CA, they're actually trying to make me a criminal, by simply owning a rifle that was perfectly legal last year

There is a reason that Europeans do not have to deal with even a fraction of the number of shootings.  It is because the governments tryu to actively get people with mental problems into therapy. Here, they throw them in jail for a night or fine them.

Do you actually need it to hunt with, or do you sleep with it under your pillow for self-defense?

My guess is it gives you a feeling of POWER.

In your dreams you use it to shoot Gov, Jerry when he comes to disarm you.

Irrelevent.....we have a 2nd amendent, they don't.  And you still haven't answered how you'd be able to forecibly get someone who's contemplating shooting up a school in for psychiatric treatments.  As Kimba accurately referenced, folks with that level of mental instability, are only discovered AFTER their act.  Prior to such an attack, there's no means of identifying and MAKING someone undergo psychiatric treatment

Irrelevent....I have a 2nd amendment right to it.  I need not have to ever hunt.  And the only "feeling" I have is the satisfaction of how accurate I can be with it

That makes it sound rather like masturbation or some other fruitless pursuit.

Maybe if I had serious feelings of inadequacy, I would have a gun as well.

Now, THAT would be a scary notion...the idea of you, with a gun.  Much like when my father in law is behind the wheel of car.......CLEAR THE STREETS!!

Seriously though.....with all the various threads, inquiries, and serious comments brought up, THIS is what & how you choose to respond?  Juvenile blather about inadequacy & masturbation??  Goes a long ways in demonstrating your debate "ability" and relative "maturity' level

Needless to say, I don't sleep with my rifle, anywhere near me, as its currently well secured, until I'm ready to go practice marksmanship with it.  So much for that latest erroneous notion of yours
