New Foley Instant Messages; Had Internet Sex While Awaiting House Vote

October 03, 2006 1:22 PM
Brian Ross and Maddy Sauer Report:

Former Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) interrupted a vote on the floor of the House in 2003 to engage in Internet sex with a high school student who had served as a congressional page, according to new Internet instant messages provided to ABC News by former pages.

ABC News now has obtained 52 separate instant message exchanges, which former pages say were sent by Foley, using the screen name Maf54, to two different boys under the age of 18.

This message was dated April 2003, at approximately 7 p.m., according to the message time stamp.

The exchange continues in which Foley and the teen both appear to describe having sexual orgasms.

Maf54: ok..i better go vote..did you know you would have this effect on me
Teen:   lol I guessed
Teen:   ya go vote…I don't want to keep you from doing our job
Maf54: can I have a good kiss goodnight
Teen:   :-*
Teen:   <kiss>

The House voted that evening on HR 1559, Emergency War Time supplemental appropriations.

According to another message, Foley also invites the teen and a friend to come to his house near Capitol Hill so they can drink alcohol.

Teen:   are you going to be in town over the veterans day weekend
Maf54: I may be now that your coming
Maf54: who you coming to visit
Teen:   haha good stuff
Teen:   umm no one really

Maf54: we will be adjourned ny then
Teen:   oh good
Maf54: by
Maf54: then we can have a few drinks
Maf54: lol
Teen:   yes yes ;-)
Maf54: your not old enough to drink
Teen:   shhh…
Maf54: ok
Teen:   that's not what my ID says
Teen:   lol
Maf54: ok
Teen:   I probably shouldn't be telling you that huh
Maf54: we may need to drink at my house so we don't get busted

Foley is a sick deviant and, by blaming alcohol, is demeaning alcoholics. There is no excuse that will justify his years of perversion and child abuse. Every member of Congress who was aware of his behavior but took no action should be required to resign.

Anyone who is looking at this as an "attack on Republicans" by the 'leftist Democrats' needs to get off the Bush Bandwagon long enough to realize that this is about PEDOPHELIA and not politics! As a Dad I am horrified by this predator using his elected office to virtually shop for teen meat. It is sick. It is unforgivable. Anyone in Congress who knew of this and did nothing is equally guilty. Foley resigning should just be the beginning.

As a mother and grandmother, I am outraged that Hastert et al aren't in jail. If this was me or you , they'd lock us up and throw away the key. It's sickening that they knew and let it go on. Anything for politics. They'd throw their mothers to the wolves. I am crazy with anger.

That's extraordinary. And disgusting.

But why do you say Foley "interrupted a vote on the floor of the House"?
What is the specific evidence for that assertion? Do you know where he was when he sent the messages? Could it have been from a portable device? If you're implying he was in his office, isn't it permissible for a Rep. to come and go from the House floor, even during a vote?
It seems to me that a lot more details and context are needed here.

When I was a Congressional Page in 1998, we pages were warned by former pages AS WELL as staffers in the house and page program to BEWARE and stay away from 3 GOP members of Congress due to past history and inappropriate behavior with other pages. Obviously Foley has resigned and we are grateful.

Although 2 members of Congress (at least that I know of and was warned of) still remain.

Let me say this: it doesnt end with the members of congress; high level staffers are doing the same thing!!

Sick sick sick. He needs to be locked up, along with those who knew it was happening and failed to act to stop it.

OK you doubters out there, this is predation at its worst. Anyone who swept it under the rug needs to go right along with Foley!

Still over reaching.

There is no evidence that Hastert et al knew about the IM's.

For that matter there is no proof that the IM's are genuine and unedited.

And you are still underreahing. Do you know how silly you look defending a pedophile pervert just because you love taxcuts more than anything. Even Fatso Hastert claims he was deceived or some such bullshit. Hah!
I knew there would be a payback for the political lynching you morons gave to Bill Clinton for having almost normal sex with a consenting member of the opposite sex. But I never dreamed it would come with such a vengeance with homosexual pedophilia among  now what looks like multiple  Repub congressmen . It is enough to almost make me believe in God.

No one i know of in here is defending Foley.

You and your ilk overreached trying to make this about Hastert and GOP Leadership.

And then forgot to bring facts to back up those charges.

Pity.

If you had any credibility,  you have even less now.

Yep, you are so right, BT.

And that's why THIS kind of thing is happening.

O'Reilly graphic labels Foley (D-Florida) !!!!!!
by GregNYC
Tue Oct 03, 2006 at 05:36:09 PM PDT

OK I was just channel flipping and O'Reilly is interviewing Pages and they show a picture of Mark Foley and it says:

Mark Foley (D- Florida)

FOX is labeling the picture of Foley as a DEMOCRAT!!!!!!!!

    * GregNYC's diary :: ::
*

This is outrageous!

If anyone has TIVo or knows of someone who taped it we need to get this to Media Matters.

What a fucking piece of shit channel!

Apologies for a short diary but it's shit like this that needs to be exposed and I had to get it out.

Update: Just saw it again (as have others). Besides feeling like I need a bath after watching that slimeball, if anyone has the graphic or video, let me know and I'll post it up top or list the link/comment up here.

And that has what to do with your inability to provide any proof that Hastert knew about the IM's.

Hmmm?

You're really losing credibility with all these ridiculous demands for some bullshit stance on "IM's" or whatever.

I mean, good grief, the moonie times called for Hastert to step down.

I figure they're doing some polling to see if his stepping down will help the numbers or not.  If they do look better if he steps down, then he will.  If they don't then he won't and they'll start slamming on gays and horrible a "disease" homosexuality or some new angle that might help them retain POWER.

Because that's all they (and they're cult members i.e. YOU) care about happening.

I understand.  It would be really hard for you to swallow if they GOP just crumbles under the weight of their own vices and bloated desire to be kings.

More nonsense.

Doesn't matter what the moonie times calls for.

What matters is you accused Hastert of a coverup and when called on that claim failed to deliver the proof.
