Bailey said the striking of the Adams coin, expected to roll out in mid-May, will proceed as planned.

“We are adjusting the manufacturing process to try to eliminate the problems,” she said.

How hard could it be to make sure that every coin is stamped with a couple of slogans?

Theodore Roosevelt took the "In God We Trust" off the coinage. He said that religion does not belong on the money.

The 1933 double eagle was worth so much because it was not authorized to be released to the public: FDR removed all gold from circulation, and even made it illegal to own gold other than as jewelry.

The Mint spent a huge amount trying to get people to accept the Sacajawea new gold dollar, but it wasn't any more popular than the Susan B Anthony dollar, although it was more attractive.

What everyone said doomed the SB Anthony dollar was its puny size, only a little bigger than a quarter. The Sacajawea dollar is a tad thicker, but is the same puny size. The new dollars are also the same silly size.

We really don't need Washington on more coins. I say no person oughta be on more than one piece of money at a time.

I think Hamilton was less worthy than many others that were put on bills as well. Only Salmon Chase was less deserving, but he was on the $1,000 bill, and they were discontinued and recalled. Or was that the $10,000 bill? It hardly matters.

Theodore Roosevelt took the "In God We Trust" off the coinage. He said that religion does not belong on the money.

It was pretty easy for him to do that, since the motto was not put on coins between 1883 and 1938. Roosevelt's presidency was 1901-1909, and the motto was not on any coins for him to "take it off" during his term of office.
Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight. (Benjamin Franklin)
