replacing humans with machines in general is not always a good idea. example self checkout machines are getting removed in some places. not just because of theft but also it`s very expensive to maintain those machines.

I am not sure how the pushers of AI square this issue.

Company "Z" eventually replaces most of it's human workforce to "save" money.

So tens of millions of people increasing lose their employment.

So how are the millions of newly unemployed going to be able to buy the products the company produces?

Isn't there a vital link between work/income/purchase?

Some talk about some kind of "guaranteed income".

But how would that work?

Everybody would get the same govermment handout from the elites that control government?

A large part of our economy is from discretionary income spending, how much of a so called "guaranteed income" would allow for discretionary income spending....and who and how would decide the amount of discretionary income?

Sounds like a trainwreck to me.

Everybody would get the same government handout from the elites that control government?

it`s worst than that. It also means less taxpayers. the government will get less money because Machines don`t pay taxes. businesses will very likely stop any law to collect tax money from machines that replace human labor.
