Being so terribly wrong can change your looks overnight

I don't want physical appearance to be considered important to the capability of a legislator.

I don't like this.

Someone who is exactly right , righteous, virtuous , wise , kind ... just gifted with whatever I would like to see in government can have my vote even if they are hideous.

Pelosi's face here reflects what I wish every Democrat in Washington would reflect; instead, we have the evil impish grin of Lieberman or the thousand-sparkling teeth of Biden.  In light of what is going on with this administration, I ask you--which face is to be trusted?  Which face is speaking truth to power?

Interesting, but not surprising, that you would you think those who saw your offering would find her unattractive, in the celebrity-tuned narcissism which now juggles such things, and attempts relentlessly to make them superior to more substantive values now under attack by the Right.

Yeah, physical appearance is sooo necessary in a government leader.  It is really important that we follow them around with a camera and snap their pictures when they look deeply weird.

They all need to start ending the useless and unspeakably expensive war in Iraq. Now.

There is no chance that the Republicans will end it, dummy. I would gladly vote for any other party that actually would end this mess, and send Cheney, Rumsfeld and Juniorbush to Leavenworth as well. For a looooong time.

So you would prefer to be on Osama's side now, is that it, bunky?

While Osama is waxing philosophical, let him also ponder this:
Why have the Democrats failed to contest the 2000 "election" of George W. Bush, despite it having clearly been stolen?

There is only one answer for both questions, and both questions are really just different forms of one more basic question, which is "Whatever happened to the so-called two-party system?

Actually, my esteemed Canadian colleague, as a Democrat, I find it unconvincing that the Democrats have not successfully ended this affair. Excuses do not matter; results do.

I am not necessarily a follower of Cindy Sheehan, but she does have a point in that the Democartic leadership promsied to end it quickly if elected as a majority and have yet to do so.

Because every bit of that "clearly been stolen" just was not so.

This is from the same guy who, in another thread, used arguments made by racists to support his position and yet insists that to call his position racist is unfair. It might indeed be unfair, but you'd think that person would consider pulling the same basic tactic on others would also be unfair. I now await the justification for why it's unfair when done to him but never when done by him.
Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.
