did not even think of the NRA .

I know.....you're of rational thought   ;)

i`m focusing about the mental illness angle and how it incredibly unknown it is in relation to the general population. I take this position because I know alot of people who take pyschology in college and notice how they irresponsibly take what they learn diagnose people.

I couldn't agree with you more

I just remember it`s was not very long ago men respected a man who says " i`d kill a man who looked at men wrong" maybe we always had people with psychotic breaks but we were more inclined to blame victims for the cause and until recently it`s the other way around

Personally, I always blame to person doing the killing.

all I ask is don`t just blame the killer but broaden the focus to molesters and various other negative outcomes of the mentally ill. this issue is alot more complicated than that. I guess I must also add we must be cautious not to attack those who can be treated beforehand. I`ved learned never assume things can go without saying.

I recognize there are factors, that helped bring about the situation, such as the coddling this kid apparently got from his parents, the exponentially horrid climate of political correctness where people now start to believe they have some right not to be offended, and the ongoing push for "gun free zones", .........but ultimately the person behind the weapon, be it gun, knife, car, or explosive, is the person I directly blame

don't forget biology. but I like to talk about our PC world and say I do like much of the aspect of us fearing to offending others. I`m old enough to remember what it`s like before and I can say we`re not exactly more mannered. but we all should understand it`s crazy easy to be offended and give folks slack . I`m offended all the time but it'll take more than that to get me on a clock tower. not much though

ooh

uhm

one of the people I know who had a violent break down was totally not quite and didn`t keep to himself. he was very open about thinking of shoot the supervisor. thinking about it we never did make much of an effort to ensure this won`t happen.

just saying

Now we are blaming "political correctness" for this.

O please.

Please stop deflecting.  No one is blaming PC on what Roger's did.  That's like....oh blaming the NRA.  I simply was agreeing with Kimba, that many factors can be involved.

but also we really need to be careful on the conclusions. the start of this post is about a spree killer and how a group of people are saying it`s caused because men don`t respect women enough and the solution is respecting women more. I`m more inclined that this is a mental health issue a much more complicated area

But as I've said, I recognize it could be not so simple as not respecting x only requires a respecting of x.  Hate is a muti-faceted monster, with lots of roots.  I hate lima beans.  That's not going to cause me to go on a murderous rampage of lima bean farmers.  I hate the fact that the Sci Fi network cancelled the show Firefly way too soon.  Doesn't mean I'm stalking SciFi executives.  I hate what socialists and hard core liberals are doing to this country.  Doesn't mean i'm making a list of liberals I need to take out.  There's alot that goes into it, including the distinct possibility that a person could simply be wired more violently reactive

with a little effort I just tried to think of people likely to do this and surprisingly I got quite a list in my head right now. all of them I met in security. that`s just correlation not causation. my bother who is also in security  swears he know somebody who may of been involved in genocides in his country. he often question why the police don`t just kills protesters.

just saying in my world these folks are a lot more common. in fact my past jobs(Xerox, aps) had workplace homicides but Xerox has way more killings. non-security related though.

I just have the best luck on what jobs I get.
