This is getting very silly. Crossing the street to avoid a confrontation is not racist, no matter whom you are trying to avoid.

To be a racist, you have to do something that deliberately offends someone else.

Only the Catholic Church thinks that just having lecherous or improper thoughts is as evil as actually committing an injustice or a sin. To commit a crime, you have to do something illegal. You can think about it all day, and it still is not illegal. Being a racist is actually performing an act or perhaps, as a government official, performing an act to deprive someone of a different race of his or her rights.

  I do not agree.

That it depends on the reactions of others just can't be right.

Why can't a thought that is just a thought be a racist thought?

If it is a racist thought, and nothing happens because of it, no one but the person who thought it is aware of it.

If I decide to dress in purple, orange and green, like the Joker, can I be accused of bad taste while I am only considering this ensemble? I think not!

De gustibus.

Non disputatum.

Racism can't be strictly about action and not thought.

It is primarily thought.

Attacking someone for the sake of greed might not be racist at all , though an attack on account of greed might be the same sort of attack as if it were.

Most religions tell people that they should try to suppress thoughts of doing evil things, but mostly only the Catholics claim that the actual  thought is the sin and must be atoned for. This can be traced back to the Church's embrace of Plato's theory of an actual World of Ideas, and that the world we live in is only a poor reflection of this world.

Actually, for many people, some sort of activity (punching bags, whacking golf balls, writing descriptions) is a good way to dispel hostile thoughts. Freudian psychology uses reliving difficult moments in the imagination as an effective way of removing recurring obsessions permanently. Confession, which is a lot simpler and less effective, is the RC Church's only method, and is less effective.

this line is interesting because recently in new york a bunch of attack occurred and asians were targeted

most likely asians are targeted due to the stereotype of thier easy marks so people will argue it`s not racial  despite only asians are assaulted.

Thinking that Asians are easy marks would also be racist , in my estimation.

In the law , what you meant to do and the reason for your actions must be considered.

I hope someday others will think the sameway.the term racism is so specific now I almost want to say "blacks only" and be done with it.

something about higher and lower status and such

Legal theory can be traced back to the Church, and the Church was influenced by Plato.

It is one thing to consider the motive (impulsive behavior, temporary rage vs. a planned out crime) but it is another to attack someone merely for an unexpressed thought they might have had.
