Learning is difficult and frustrating for most people. Math is required, as is an ability to deal with major frustration when one error at the beginning of a program causes an error in every subsequent line when you send it to the compiler. Many programming languages do this. Just type an O instead of a 0 or vice versa and the program will refuse to do what it is supposed to.
Accounting pays well and is easier than coding, in my opinion/ A CPA can easily earn over $100K if he caters to the right clientele, and no one is getting trampled in the rush to become an accountant.
Luckily, what is boring and tedious to most people is an enticing challange to a select few.
