An hit's Tommy this, an' Tommy that,
An "Throw 'im out, the brute;
But hit's "Savior of 'is country,
When the guns begins to shoot!"
---Rudyard Kipling
What I did say was that saying "we will never forget" and "we will honor him forever" is hyperbole.
The fact is that yes, we will, and no, we won't, unless you mean a name on a plaque or a website somewhere, maybe for a century or two.
If it was not, then you could easily recall the name and brave act of the 27th recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor in exactly the same way a lot of people know when and how many home runs Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron hit.
I am not interested in burning any flags, thank you very much.
About your foolosh little blurb:
The soldiers of Argentina at one time or another have smashed the presses, silenced free speech, denied fair trials and gunned down demonstrators, arrested others, drugged them and stripped them and threw them out of airplanes at 30,000 feet above the South Atlantic.
There are soldiers right here in the US Army who would do all these things if they were ordered to do so by their Commander in Chief. It could happen here and don't you forget it.
I am all for brave soldiers, but bravery is not all that is required to bring justice to this world, and it sometimes happens without a lot of bravery at all.
