If a party does not have 60 votes, the bill is not even presented.

Nonsense.

You need 60+ to override a threatened veto or a filibuster. You don't need 60 to have a bill  introduced or brought to the floor.

This is hardly nonsense. If they don't have the votes for a bill, especially a bill that would not bear scrutiny, they simply do not present it. It gets tied up in a committee, it is never presented to the committee.

I am not referring to any tax bill, but that type of tax bill that favors only a few. These will not pass scrutiny as easily.

Aw Cointrary

The tipical bill favors a few here and a few there with plenty of backscractching being traded to get the votes of each congressman by passing the platter to his district , after each needed vote is bought the bill is going to be fat with pork, and loopholes ..

Also the Congress is full of milionaires, passing a bill that is truely hard on millionaires and has no escape loopholes is harder than flint.

That is an excellent reason for term limits. The most useful of Gingrich's Contract on America.

>>Many of the loopholes were written by Republicans who might not be around to prevent them from being closed by the Democrats.<<

LMAO!

Once again the democrats are proven to be easiliy fooled.

Only certain accountants, who must be Republican apparently, can make their way through the maze of tax law and, like Frodo of the Shire, come through at the end and save the rich from paying taxes.

I recall John Kerry had a good Republican accountant. Ole John and his meal ticket didn't pay much taxes at all.

Good Lord, what nonsense.
