Milking It!

One thing Democrats are so good at is taking advantage of an opportunity!
Looks Like Barry is headed to ground zero in a day or two. Wonder if he'll take a bullhorn and find a Fireman's shoulder to lean on!

The gals from "The View", aside from Elizabeth of course, were all ready to pronounce Obama as having won re-election.  Boy, is there going to be some major egg, on their face, come 2012

You mean the same gals that got all worked up when Bill O said Muslims did the killing on 9/11, those gals?

From Drudge: RASMUSSEN: No 'Immediate Bounce' for Obama...

----------

All well, back to the drawing board. It was incredibly distasteful for liberals to try to use this event in a political way to promote their boy. He deserves credit for the authorization of it, but this is America's victory. A lot of people put time and energy into this.  This was a four year investigation based on a lead that the Bush administration produced with water boarding.

I still say, that with the coming election, the decision to take out Osama was a NO-BRAINER!

Getting rid of OBL makes god sense both politically and practically. It is not to the advantage of the US for OBL to remain in charge of Al Qaeda, as he has more authority than anyone else in the organization. It takes a lot of loyalty to run an organization that specializes in suicidal attacks.

Any US president that had a good opportunity to take out OBL should have done so, regardless of their political party.

No shit Sherlock, that's why Obama should NOT get near the credit the Seal Team, CIA, and other government agencies should get. Thanks for making my point! All Obama did was give the green light and serve up popcorn at the viewing of the event. Then the teleprompter told him what to say!

Bin Laden Death Will Not Boost Obama: Expert
By: Patrick Allen

The euphoric scenes that met the death of Osama Bin Laden will not boost President Barack Obama?s re-election hopes, according to Alastair Newton, a political analyst at Nomura in London.

?The immediate reaction in the US notwithstanding, 'normal business' will soon be resumed in US politics. There will be no change on the fiscal/debt polarization and contrary to some commentators' reaction, definitely no election boost for Obama,? said Newton in an interview with CNBC on Tuesday.

With little or no operational control over al-Qaeda in recent years, Newton believes Osama?s death will have little impact on the terror group?s ability to mount attacks.

?Bin Laden?s role as head of al-Qaeda seems to have been largely symbolic for some years now, he was not responsible for operational planning and decision-making,? he added.

Following the brief rally on news of Bin Laden?s death, stocks gave up gains and Newton told CNBC that he agrees with the market reaction.

?There is no readily identifiable substantive reason for the market rally which the announcement of his bin Laden?s death triggered,? he said.

?The US and UK authorities, among others, are, in my view, wise to warn of a possible increase in the terrorist threat and of a possible civil unrest threat to western embassies etc in some countries, the terrorism risk may rise,? Newton added.

Whether this has any effect with the American public is up to the American public, not some British twit who passes himself off as an expert.

It is probably not going to be the deciding factor of the 2012 election.

Bush declines NYC invite

Former President George W. Bush has turned down President Barack Obama’s invitation to join him at ground zero on Thursday, citing his desire to avoid the media glare.

“President Bush appreciated the invite, but has chosen in his post-presidency to remain largely out of the spotlight,” Bush spokesman David Sherzer told POLITICO in an email Tuesday night. “He continues to celebrate with all Americans this important victory in the war on terror.”

Obama — who has sharply criticized Bush for neglecting the hunt for bin Laden by invading Iraq — made the offer to Bush shortly after he decided on his New York trip, according to two people familiar with the situation.

The president will travel to the site of the World Trade Center to mark the killing of Osama bin Laden, who was gunned down during a daring raid on his compound north of Islamabad on Sunday. Word of bin Laden’s death prompted hundreds of New Yorkers to gather in celebration at the scene of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people in New York, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pa.

Obama, who last visited the site as a presidential candidate in 2008, will meet with family members of some of the victims, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other local officials.

Bush, who grabbed a bullhorn and vowed to avenge the attacks during a visit to the trade center’s smoking ruins days after bin Laden’s terrorists struck, will attend the 10th anniversary commemoration of the nation’s worst terror attack on Sept. 11, 2011, Sherzer said.
