The 25 unhealthiest states.

Check it out, it's worth it for the pictures alone.

I'll give you a rolling start:

Tied for #1: Louisiana and Mississippi (btw, a red states)

#2: Arkansas (lookie here, also a red state)

#3: West Virginia (ah huh, a red state)

#4: South Carolina (you guessed it, a red state) 

#5: Alabama (bingo, a red state)

The healthiest state: Vermont (and of course, it's a BLUE state, ha ha ha)

I wonder how red and blue would divide in terms of education? For example would Mississippi or Louisiana have better educated populations than Mass or Conn? Or would it follow more along the lines of heathy vs unhealthy states?

That may be ONE reason, but not the only reason,and probably not the most important reason, either.

The birthrate increases population, but only after 16-20 years or so do those born this year enter the labor force.

Migration also changes population.

There may be several important factors , but correlation is not necessacerily causation. Education might be very important , and so might climate.
