The guy was clearly insane and clearly should never have been allowed to own a gun. The reality is that there is no real way to lock up people like him before then run amok, and little chance that they could be disarmed, either.

And the "bill" being proposed by the Dems and company, would have done NOTHING to have prevented this insane leftist from acquiring his arsenal.  It WOULD have made it harder for law abiding citizens to better protect themselves, if this insane leftist decided to start spraying bullets anywhere

Yes.

Very difficult , droping him from the police force seems like a good call in hindsight.
As a policeman , his insanity might have manifested even more harmfully.

It isn't really important that he thought himself a leftist, but I think I get what you mean, it also would not really be important that he might have considered himself a right winger, but if he had , much more fuss would be made of it.

Some people join the police because they like the idea of bullying people around. I have met a few cops like this here in Miami.
He did not go ape and start shooting people because of any political views: he was simply nuts, like the Jamaican dude on the Long Island Railroad.

Of course he was a nut....he was a leftist nut, who apparently loved the likes of Obama, and all manner of racist leftist TV & radio hosts.  You think you'd be so quiet if this nut loved Rush or Hannity??  You'd be proclaiming how this nut literally got his hateful marching orders from them

This guy was kicked off the force for protesting bullying by his police force. Allegedly.

And this may be true.Perhaps he just had enough and snapped. He still had no reason to shoot game wardens, though.

There is always some sort of reason for irrational behavior, not necessarily a valid justification.

Given this liberal crack pot's history, as more and more of it is released, the biggest question is how was this fella ever hired onto the Police Force to begin with

he made the cut to get in but that doesn`t mean he can`t lose it later on. the military has finally admitted it has a ever growing list of soldier losing it. both institution normally view mental health as a wimpy liberal thing so little attention will be given. if you were to talk to any of the older officeir most will likely be unsympathic about mental health, but a small percent will give a ton of example it`s badly needs attention. When i first reseach PTSD alot of the military in history treated it as an act of treason. Now I find no record about how badly men were treated with mental health problems.

Mental health problems are seen as something that affects sissies and girly-men. This is simply untrue, but it prevents a lot of people from even seeking treatment. They do not want to admit to what the see as weakness of character.

It is possible that this guy was competent when hired, and changed as a result of the stress involved.

No, it's not possible, given this fella's "manifesto".  He was a self perceived victim ever since 1st grade apparently.  There were red flags everywhere, both before and during his academy training , which again begs the question how he was hired onto the LA Police Force in the 1st place

Apparently to you does not have a thing to do with a logical conclusion.

I have seen nothing about his early childhood. Do you think that he was a defective human being, and should have been culled from the population in the first grade? If not, what is your point?

And no, no one has claimed that we need to disarm all retired police and military.
