Mary Landrieu blames her impending loss on racism
« on: October 31, 2014, 12:59:35 AM »
Quote
“I'll be very, very honest with you. The South has not always been the friendliest place for African-Americans,” Landrieu told NBC News in an interview. “It's been a difficult time for the president to present himself in a very positive light as a leader."

She also blames the fact that President Obama has been unfriendly to the Louisiana energy industry, I suppose this was a poor mix with being black, when a white guy puts your career on ice you don't mind so much.

Perhaps Mary Landrieu doesn't like Louisiana ?

So you question the fact that there is racism in Louisiana?

Louisianans are so sexist that they've elected...Mary Landrieu to the Senate.  Three times. They're so racist that Bobby Jindal is their governor.  The Country is so racist, that they've elected Obama, two times

 ::)

There's racism everywhere, including Louisiana.  However, the country just re-elected a Black president, for crying out loud.  Mary and yourself are going to have to look elsewhere for blame on the impending Democrat disaster.  You can start with Obamacare & Immigration, then work your way down from there.  Don't forget the current rise in Islamic terrorism, the whole botched Ebola response, and the least trasnparent administration in modern day history

This is a question of degree.

Louisiana has a unique history in regards of racism , I once had a Cajun instructor that informed me that he wasn't white , he was Cajun which is better.

The French and Spanish heritage was a lot less severely racist than the Plantation culture that came in later , so in Louisiana there were a lot more Mulatto slave owners and a lot more respect for African cultural influence.

So yes there is had always has been racism in Louisiana  but not especially so, New Orleans is a center of African American culture , when do you think this started?

Has San Francisco had as many black mayors as  New Orleans , which states have had more minority and female Senators and Governors?

Mary Landrieu's present employment is evidence that she is wrong, how can she ignore facts she is so close to?

Mary Landrieu has a message to the Louisiana voter, and it is an undeserved insult, so she deserves the loss she is earning.

She has not lost yet,and if she does, it will be because of who turns out to vote.

Louisiana is divided against the French/Creole/Cajun culture, which is more tolerant, and a rather vicious White Kluxer bunch. David Duke had more success in Louisiana than anywhere else.

The only people Landrieu insulted were the racists themselves.

Point being that she's been elected...3x, Jindal has been elected to governor, and Obama has been elected and then re-elected as President, so its fruitless to claim that if Landrieu doesn't win this time, that it's supposedly because of racism or sexism.  It'll be because of the policies that the 2 of them have pushed onto the electorate, and now the electorate is getting the repercussions of those policies.

In other words, her impending loss has squat to do with racism

LOL...which reinforces the ever present point of you never apparently being able to demonstrate how/where I'm wrong.  Just your 99% wrong say so.  Bravo

David Duke got the success that he got.

Less success than Mary Landrieu or Ray Nagan, no?, ...so the extent of a racist advantage can be measured subjectively.

Mary Landrieu insulted the whole south and Louisiana especially, not smart , and not true.

So if I informed you that your actions were the result of racism, you would not be directly insulted?

racism is not exactly a straight forward term. the south has open racism. meaning in the word nigger is very openly said to the point everyone says it freely. a friend of mine coming back from louisiana took weeks to finally stop saying nigger after every word. California has hidden racism which means it just harder to get into school or find work. it`s the cause of a lot of blacks leaving California to go to the south . meaning they rather tolerate being called nigger than not get a job.

People are leaving CA, not because of racism, but because the business climate in this state, is pretty much the worst in the country.  Call it open businessism

I was talking about the past few decades. Several articles here have noted black flight.
San jose has white flight due which the arrents claim the asians are too competitive.
But i do agree today california is very business unfriendly

Who is comfortable in modern California?
