No border is 100% secure,  and no one expects that.   But in its current form it is far to porous.   So, to start building some credibility,  as it relates to some supposed concern about our borders,  you start securing the border 1st,  THEN we can start dealing with the folks already here.  Without putting the horse in front of the cart, this will simply be seen as a green light for millions more immigrants to illegally cross into our country anyway and anywhere possible

You would think that the problem would be a lot more clear to the Democrats.

Or perhaps it is, the democratic party is benefiting from the status quo, and they feel as though they will benefit more in the future.

If confusion and unfairness produces a bigger Democratic voting block , you can pretty much depend on Democrats to preserve the confusion and extend the unfairness.

Lets remember the colossal mistake Ronald Reagan made on this subject, signing a major amnesty bill on the promise of a more comprehensive solution and firmer border control to follow.

The Democrats are such sharp horse traders that they expect to leave the deal with the horse and the price of the horse also.

Once the amnesty was granted , there was no motive at all for the opposition to take the next step, fool me once shame on you , fool me twice shame on me.

The border will N E V  E R be 100% secure, Never. So the Oligarchs  that enjoy the cheap labor will  never let their  puppets vote for a comprehensive immigration bill. The 'baggers will continue to  be their useful idiots, and more and  more illegals will enter.

The GOP leaders want the staus quo to continue.  You morons are being used.

Why do you speak as if the Oligarchs and puppets are not Democrats?

If I were an Oligarch I would not leave any major party un-infiltrated would you?

By their actions are they known.

The Republicans are pretty much entirely sold out. They are owned
Only some of the Democrats are rented.

The Democrats could get a comprehensive immigration bill if they wanted one.

Even if they had to accept that the "comprehensive " meant a peacemeal approach.

Insisting that the whole thing happen at once is just an excuse to preserve what they have got.

I think I see lots of evidence that the Democrats are pleased with the situation as it is.

For instance , from six till four years ago there was a Democratic controlled Congress- House and Senate - and a Democratic President who was perfectly aligned with the Leftmost of the Democrats.

What , no comprehensive immigration bill votes then?

If the Immigration system is a real problem and not just a talking point, perhaps there will soon be a Republican consolidated leadership and there can then be a few good bills.

Or my favorite could let me down just as bad as your favorite team has.

Two years to place your bets.

By what actions??  The country speaks by voting, as in their actions....period.  That ridiculous line made by Obama ranks right up there with Pelosi's "we have to pass it to see what's in it" crap of a line

The Democrats want a comprehensive immigration bill. The Republican'ts do not.

Wrong.....DC demawon'ts want a mass of new unskilled, poverty ridden more citizens, to enhance the need for bigger Government.  Legal civilian democrats don't.  Not to mention, the GOP wants reform as well.  It simply needs to begin with border security.

The Republicans are pretty much entirely sold out. They are owned

You mean the way Soros, the Unions, and their ilk own the Democrats??

Bottom line is that the way Obama is trying to do an end around his authority, as clearly outlined by the Constitution, that HE HIMSELF had referenced over a dozen times, is the issue here.  The President doesn't get to pick his congress...THE PEOPLE DO.  The people chose a divided Government.  That means Obama, just like every other president before him, has to work WITH Congress, if he wants something of his passed.  The precedent he's about to set will not only solidify his position in history, as perhaps the most polarizing, non-uniting president in history, but sets the table for any and all future Presidents, including the next Republican President, to simply enact what they want, and screw congress or the will of the people.

Apparently that's what Obama meant when he sold himself on "fundamentally changing" the way he was going to do things in DC.  Scary & sad, all rolled up into one mess of a community organizer

Republicans didn't win the mid terms, Democrats lost it.  So don't think people elected Republicans at a record level, because they all of a sudden like the Republican platform.  No, there was a groundswell of frustration, at the policies put in place by Obama and pushed by Democrats.....leading the way with "if you like your Dr/Insurance, you can keep it...period".  Then add the layers of utter incompotence & Chicago-like politics as usual, and you can understand why Democrats running, tried to avoid answering if they even voted for the man

Which means, that Republicans have a small window, to change that mindset in the need of of throwing Dems out on their incumbent butts, into why the Republicans should remain in power. They need to govern, they need to have the bills that were sitting on Reid's desk ready to be voted on ASAP.

And they need to put together coherent legislation to replace Obamacare.  NOT TRY TO FIX IT.  That's exactly what the Dems want.  At this point, Obamacare is the Dem's devil child.  If the GOP starts trying to tweak it, in order to make an unworkable piece of crap, supposedly workable, it immediately becomes a bipartisan piece of crap, getting the Dems off the hook for pushing it in the 1st place

Rule 1: No deviation from a simple vision. The Republican objective for the voting public should be: Keep your job; keep your health insurance; and keep your doctor.
- The most direct way to get rid of all the anti-job of Obamacare is to repeal the employer mandate.
- The most direct way to insure that people can keep insurance they like is to repeal the individual mandate.
- And the most direct way of insuring people can keep their doctor is to deregulate and denationalize the health insurance exchanges.

The minimum wage increase is popular across the board.

What would happen if the Republicans just gave in on this issue?

It will NOT help anyone , but until this gets a convincing demonstration it will remain the tool of demagogues.

So double the mini wage , monitor the results , we will have some trouble , but the education might be worth the trouble.

Depends on what's being offered in return.  What's the "give and take" in trying to work together?

Not even trying to worry about it.

There is such strong support for the minimum wage that it is a certainty to happen.

I would tell the truth, the minimum wage is fully demonstrated to cause unemployment, but the people can have their way in this democracy.

Raise the miniwage then say" you were warned a lot" to the fresh unemployed.

       Quit demanding employmentectomy.

No....tired of the effort in offering up compromises that are 1 sided....or giving up on something with the "promise" of reciprication.  We've all seen how Israel has seen the repercussions of that approach.  Especially when its been factually proven how raiding the minimum wage actually hurts the folks the most that it puports to help the most.

Need to see some hard core compromise here
