This is a bad idea, there are so many ways this can go wrong , and if it goes perfectly right, there are no ways to ensure that the story told by the Media is about how right it went.

This is a terrible idea.
It might prove to those that are already convinced they are right that they are right.

Guns on college campuses are a really, really BAD idea.

Guns are a good idea on campus, it would really help if there were a campus militia , perhaps for PE credit.

This theater on the street , could easily get out of hand.

You must have gone to a college vastly different from those I attended.  Drunken parties are universal at most colleges, and guns do NOT belong.

Are drunken parties harmless sans firearms?

I don't drive drunk , but I certainly would not drive drunk if the government took away everyone's cars.

That seems impractical, what if the government just took away everyone's beer?

So why don't colleges forbid alcoholic drinking on campus?

I think beer is more essential to one's college years than guns.

At New Mexico State University I learned that drinking too much beer (or any sort of alcohol) was  extremely bad for me. I shudder to think what my drinking buddies would have done had they been armed.

The gun nuts are cheering because somehow Obama has provoked more gun sales. But it seems that he is mostly provoking people idiots that already have many more guns than hands and feet to buy even more guns.

The danger of all this weaponry will become obvious when these idiots die and their guns fall into the hands of more dangerous and careless idiots. Gun nuts are far more mortal than their weapons.

When did inherited guns become a problem?

The American people love cars, it may not be a fundamental right to drive and own a car, but it would be a monumental task to separate us from them.

It is a fundamental right to own and appropriately use effective weapons, protected in law from USA day one.

What little effort is required to separate the armed public from the rights that they love?

It is not only attempts at restricting this right that drive high sales, there are also surges after notorious violent crimes.

When people want protection , and are Americans, it first occurs to them to protect themselves.

Note that in Chicago, that has been run by Democrats for eighty years, guns are just as plentiful as they are forbidden.

It is not like that in Dusseldorf , but that city is not populated with Americans.
