everybody I know ,who tried failed at working at home.
in general families will not respect somebody who works at home and will think that person is always available.

It takes the same discipline to work from home as it does to get up and go to work.

I have worked from home for years. And the biggest advantage is i don't have to complete my tasks based on someone elses 8 hour timeclock, i can spread it out over 24 if i so choose.

and you save on travel time
most folks average over and hour and a half getting to and from work.
I lose at least that much.

and the disapline is not the person but the family that must understand while working he or she is not truely all that available.
evey interuption delay that person pasted the 8hr mark.

My job, like Domer's, calls me out of the house on a regular basis, but for the great bulk of time I work at home, an arrangement I find to be optimal (for me) save for the lack of schmoozing with friends, a facet of my workday I sometimes try to make up here, sometimes with disastrous results.
