Norris: McCain may be too old for the White House
Posted: 03:06 PM ET

Norris is hosting a fundraiser for Huckabee at his Texas ranch.
WASHINGTON (CNN) ? Chuck Norris brought his tough-guy approach to the campaign trail Sunday, taking aim at John McCain's age and suggesting the Arizona senator might not last even a single term.

Norris, an ardent supporter of Mike Huckabee, told reporters he believes serving as president accelerates the aging process 3-to-1.

"If John takes over the presidency at 72 and he ages 3-to-1, how old will he be in four years? Eighty-four years old ? and can he handle that kind of pressure in that job?" Norris said, as Huckabee looked on.

"That's why I didn't pick John to support, because I'm just afraid the vice president will wind up taking over his job within that four-year presidency," added the action star.

Huckabee himself avoided offering his own opinion on whether McCain is fit for the presidency, saying "Only John McCain and his hair dresser know for sure."

Norris, who has been at Huckabee's side for weeks as the former Arkansas governor campaigns for the presidency, is hosting a fundraiser for the Republican White House hopeful at his Texas ranch Sunday.

I'm not buying.  I will say that I absolutely will not vote for Huckabee, though I could forseeably vote for McCain, Clinton, or Obama.  Huckabee (to me) is in the slime class with Edwards.  Romney appears to me to be too inflexible, though he does put out more waffles on his positions than the pancake house.  The semantic debate televised recently with the AP reporter only reinforces my opinion; this is another "what is the meaning of is" type of thing waiting to happen.

I knew it wouldn't belong before we began to hear pearls of wisdom from Chuck Norris.

Nothing like stretching the fabric of credulity to the ripping point.

I will file all his comments under 'dense and grinning.'

Another celeb noticed backing--as in onstage, standing in back of--was Jon Voit.

His object of advocation?

Rudy "Judge Roy Beane" Giulianni.

It is the closest I have come to falling out of my chair this year.

I would value Chuck Norris' opinion on martial arts, and John Voight's opinions about acting, but on the subject of politicians, national defense and geriatric medicine, I think I will consider myself a better judge than either of these guys.

McCain is indeed old, but he might not be too old. Reagan was too old, but McCain does not dodder as Ronnie did in 1980 or 1984.

I disagree with McCain's positions more than with Huckabee's or Romney's. I think I like Romney a bit more than Huckabee or McCain.

I like Kucinich, Edwards, Hillary and Obama better than any of them, pretty much in that order.

Ric Flair (big time TV wrestling champ) is supporting Huckabee.
Somehow I didn't fall out of my chair when I learned that.

it's not that he is too old....
although he does look like he's about 100
it's that he's a "Bob Dole retread"
John McCain (a great American like Bob Dole) would get his ass kicked in Nov
lets not make it easy for the socialist party, thats what CNN, NBC, and CBS already do.

Three thoughts on this:
(1) McCain might indeed get his ass kicked. But the ENTIRE REPUBLICAN PARTY deserves to have its ass kicked for the ghastly mess they got the country into. They aren't conservative, they borrow and squander and run the debt up and up, buggering the dollar, which is worth less ands less. For the second time since Eisenhower said it, they violated his eminently professional statement that the US should never get involved in any land war in Asia. They have made the country despised and mistrusted abroad. McCain is the best of a rather mediocre bunch. McCain's claim to fame was he was bombing Vietnam and was shot down and incarcerated, and much to his credit, refused to be sent home early as special treatment. Huckabee is a Baptist preacher, please. Romney is the Mormon version of the Wendell Wilke of his time, and Giulani is a tired old hack who has surrounded himself with despised NeoCons. Paul is in favor of ending the war, which is great, but the rest of his ideas belong somewhere in the 1840's.
(2) The Democrats are NOT any sort of Socialist anything. The basic tenet of Socialism is thet the means of production should be controlled by the state. The idea that the Democrats are socialists exists in the mind of Rush, who is paid to harbor it and to infect the squishy-minded.
(3) Bob Dole may have been a great American when he fought in WWII, but in his latter years, he was th4 puppet of Archer Daniels Midland. Even as we speak, he lives in a super luxurious condo in Bal Harbour, which he bought from an ADM Exec for about twenty cents on the dollar of what is was really worth. And the media are largely unbiased, except for FOX, they merely are always on the lookout for sensationalism and scandals of the sort that Republicans like Tom DeLay  was famous for.

Much to my dismay, I agree that NO Republican can get elected in November, due to several reaosn, primarilt this Iraq debacle. I know Sirs and I disagree on this, which is fine. And, Eisenhower was correct about getting involved in land wars in Asia. Even the Soviets had a well-known military doctrine that directed massive tactical nuke strikes against the Chinese ifthey came across the border as the Soviets knew that was he only way they could stop a Chinese human wave attack.

And, yes, the current Republicans are defintiely not the William Buckley Republicans I admire greatly. Bush is printing money so fast trees must be lined up outside the Bureau of Engravning the Printing. They may as well move a lumber mill right there!

But, I do not look forward to the social issues policies of Hillary and Co....sigh.

First off, the story about Juniorbush's skipping out of National Guard service is essentially TRUE. He did not complete his service.
If he wanted the truth to be known, he would have revealed it. Juniorbush knows the truth, and chooses to keep the entire country in the dark. We are all supposed to get REAL ID licences to prove who we are, but Juniorbush refuses to tell us the whole truth of his military service. And he presumes to be some sort of leader.

So ONE CLOWN at UCLA says that the media is biased, and I am supposed to take that as an authority? I am also an avid student of S politics and history and I consider my opinions no less valid than this clown.

I know bias when I see it. Rush tells you where to see it.

Now, let's see you find a quote where any Democrat advocates nationalizing the means of production.
Socialist. Bah.

Juniorbush has privitized the Army in Iraq, so now we pay $100,000 for truck drivers that could cost us less than half that of what they pay Halliburton. That is the entire opposite of Socialism.

The Russians have no choice about avoiding a land war in Asia, since the greater part of the USSR as well as the Russian Federation IS in Asia. This is an advantage the US has, which we totally blew by getting involved in land wars in Korea, Vietnam and now Iraq.

William F. Buckley is fading into the gloom of history much as William Jennings Bryan did. The only advocate in the GOP that comes close to agreeing with Buckley is Ron Paul, who can't be nominated or elected, not even for VP.

Imagine that. Dick Cheney(the Military Industrial Complex, with all its corruption personified) is actually allowed in the White House and Paul (who I deem mostly honest, just an anachronism) will be forever barred. Or can anyone here see Romney, McCain, Huckabee or Giulani asking for Paul to be on the ticket?

First off, the story about Juniorbush's skipping out of National Guard service is essentially TRUE. He did not complete his service.

Is that why CBS news told Anchor Dan Rather to get lost?

FACT:
On October 1, 1973, Bush was honorably discharged from the Texas Air National Guard and transferred to the inactive reserves in Denver, Colorado. He was discharged from the Air Force Reserve on November 21, 1974.

Move on to another battle, you got your ass kicked in this one.
But nice try Dan Rather & XO. LOSERS!
