Paul Scofield is dead.

Paul Scofield, one of the finest actors I have ever seen, is dead. He won an Oscar for his performance in the film A Man for All Seasons. I never saw him ever give an unconvincing performance. I feel as I did when Luciano Pavarotti died last year. Something good and beautiful has gone out of the world.

Bummer.

I just recorded A Man For All Seasons a week or so ago; I'll have to make sure I watch it soon.
