School locked down after 'ninja' sighted in woods

BARNEGAT, N.J. (AP) - It's the case of the nonexistent ninja. Public schools in Barnegat were locked down briefly after someone reported seeing a ninja running through the woods behind an elementary school.

Turns out the ninja was actually a camp counselor dressed in black karate garb and carrying a plastic sword.

Police tell the Asbury Park Press the man was late to a costume-themed day at a nearby middle school.

The lockdown began shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday and lasted until 9:30.

I googled this, and it brought up a DVD called Ninja Supremo, but Penny Marshall was unmentioned in the credits.

I have never heard of any real person being attacked by ninjas.

Did Cindy Williams have a ninja problem, too?

it was in the 80`s
some kids (i`m guessing saw way too many ninja movies) wore blackout outfits broke into her house.
she called the cops and they caught them pretty fast.
one of the kids talked about following the ways of the ninja.
guessing since it`s pre internet that bit of trivia may not of made it.
I remember it because it sounds so crazy

 After reading Lanya's story and picturing the same thing in my head as you, as I had planned to reply with  a cheeky ninja turtle thang...

but Oops, instead it reminded me of another sorta similar story in our own town.

what I love about ninja`s is that officially a few years ago they never exist.
I researched stephen hayes a supposed US expert on the matter . he finally he went to japan and found out it never existed and the stuff he learn is brazillian jujitsu.
sad and funny
now it`s ninja everything and I can`t find the article stated the s. hayes incident.
