O-si-yo, Plane. I see your wife must be expanding her interest in her Tsalagi lineage. Kudos to her. There are a lot of resources on the internet, including several sites that show the Cherokee syllabary (alphabet), and I know most contain pronunciation guides. I found one some time back that gives a dictionary to translate from Cherokee to English and vice versa - not one of the 'type in a word and hit enter' types, but one where you can actually look up different words from a list. I'll dig around in my 'Favorites' a bit later and see if I can find it for her.
If she's interested in attending powwows, I've also got a site that gives the dates and locations of powwows across the US. Most, as you can guess, are in the west, but there are quite a few in the southeast.
