The Byrd Rule
« on: March 02, 2010, 05:38:40 AM »
The "Byrd Rule" is an advantage to the minority party , allowing the minority to slow the stampede of the majority in the Senate.

Without it every measure proposed by the majority will go in one end and pop out the other end as law later the same day.

Is this a good time to remove this impediment to progress?

The Majority might well be Republican next year , and a stronger faster acting Senate might be very desireable then.

when the thugs are voted out by mandate later this year we will want to get down to business and turn around liberalism in it's tracks -- so the answer is NO
