I was following a thread about a Polish movie . . .
« on: March 06, 2010, 10:24:07 AM »
and I came across this guy quite by accident.

http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/pdx/1442403975.html\

I mean, WOW.  Holy f . . .

That ain't no fuckin Tea-Bagger.   How many more guys are there like this in the country?  Just looks to me like there could be lots of Americans who really get what's happening in America but haven't bothered to do anything about it.  How long will it take for somebody to tap into that kind of anger?  Obama faked it, but somebody more serious could come along any time.  Maybe there's hope for your fucking country after all!!!

Sorry, I just copied and pasted the link.  I tried to re-trace my links from the movie into something called reddit or subreddit where all the menu instructions were in German but a lot of the posters seemed to be Polacks posting in pretty good English (in fact nobody was posting in anything but English, despite the German menu instructions) and from there into some kind of RPG site where this guy who seemed like a US Northwest Coaster went into a long "I Hate America for What It's Become" rant that, without being unduly repetitive, covered all the usual MT bases.  The guy was like Ron Paul raw material but up-front about a lot of stuff, the Congress bought and sold by special interests, the MSM ditto, the Israel lobby dictating foreign policy and micromanaging the press, the fake "two-party" system and ludicrous "elections" etc. etc. etc.

Basically, this was a non-political guy who saw through all the BS, knew what was wrong with the country but couldn't be bothered to fix it (or else knew that it couldn't be fixed) predicted the coming disaster . . .

That kind of anger CAN be tapped into, just like the Tea Baggers tapped into white racist anger, but so far, nobody's attempted to do so.

The title was "I hate America for what it's become" which I tried Googling in various forms, searching with and without wildcards . . .

Shit.  How can it be that I simply cut and paste the URL and it's wrong?

Guy writes like Brass. But at least Brass had the RBE.
Guy trashes but doesn't contribute any solutions, Why should he be listened to?

Angry people are a dime a dozen. Fuckem

You included the trailing slash.

http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/pdx/1442403975.html

works

doesn't work.

Thanks, BT.

If the trailing slash makes the address invalid, how did it get into the address in the address box anyway?  I sure didn't ADD it to the address that I cut and pasted.

I thought it was symptomatic of a potential vote that has never been appealed to openly.  Kucinich comes closest, but there are lots of things that even he won't say publicly.  But the votes are there for anyone who wants to try to harness them.

That guy wasn't significant as one individual, but as an outspoken representative of a demographic, he raises questions.

<<Guy writes like Brass. But at least Brass had the RBE.>>

RBE???

<<Guy trashes but doesn't contribute any solutions, Why should he be listened to?>>

Nonsense.  The solutions to most of his complaints are obvious from the complaints themselves.  If he complains about the dominance of the Israel Lobby, his solution is obviously to elect people who aren't in the Lobby's hip pocket.

Really?

And how do you do that?

Ban the Israeli Lobby?

Do you honestly think that incoming congressmen are kidnapped and brainwashed before they are sworn in so that they go along with whatever AIPAC wants or do you think that perhaps there is something more at play here?

RBE???

Resource Based Economy - it's sort of rebranded communism.  It used to be his "cause" back in the PIC days (Politically Incorrect Cafe, on Yahoo clubs, where this an other groups got their start).
