I spent Thanksgiving at the China Super Buffet, with my Taiwanese friend Ying and David, a friend of his who flew in from Portland, OR.
They had about 200 different dishes of every description, including a couple of turkeys, ducks, and some Taiwan specialties rarely seen in Chinese restaurants here in S. FL.
The Taiwanese-American Association of S. Florida has a TG and a Christmas dinner at a buffet restaurant, with a lot of prize drawings. Pretty much everyone seems to win something. I won a revolving desk caddy thing. Ying won a pressure cooker, made in Brazil.
My friend and colleague Ying Liu discovered that he is one of a huge number of people with his name in the US and has recently added a new name to his previous name to avoid ID theft. He is now Tanner Ying Liu.
The term Asian seems a bit vague, being as it could refer to not just Chinese, but Koreans, Mongolians, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indians, Iranians and even Israelis and Turks. Asia is a really big place.
Best wishes to everyone on this gloriuos day of festivities and gluttony.
