Yeah, God bestowed the right to carry assault rifles with huge clips on everyone. God will not be happy until all his children are strutting around with combat assault weapons.

Yeah, right. So why don't you just carry that a little further, to the right to own a howitzer or a bazooka or an Apache helicopter loaded with missiles.

No doubt God wants you to have these as well.

You and your obsession with strutting.  I mean, is that what you do at home?....in front of the mirror?...carrying around textbooks and puffing out your chest while you do so??

As Plane already alluded to, that's indeed what we should be allowed.  But as it is, we merely have revolvers and semi-automatic weapons to defend ourselves.  Deal with it

Is it understood that we have too many guns for some particular reason?

==================================================
The more guns are owned by a given population, the greater the possibility that guns will be stolen and used in committing crime.

I once tutored a French Canadian guy who wanted to perfect his pronunciation of English so he could get a captain's
license. He had a collection of something like thirty pistols, rifles and shotguns that he kept in a locked chest in the living room. He was very proud of his collection, which he showed me one day.

Several months later, he called me to tell me that he passed the test and got his license. After a while, he said that he had an appointment to buy a gun from someone. I asked him if he thought he needed more guns. He said "now I do: someone broke into my house and stole all the guns in the chest." He said he only had ten guns and needed a good rifle.

That would be an example of"too many guns."

Thank you , that is well put together.

I don't agree .

My family was burgled once when I was young and one of the stolen items was one of our shotguns , we never got it back .

One of the most economical was of buying a gun is to buy it from the police , when they confiscate a stolen gun they try to return it to its owner , failing that it goes to the auction along with all the sterios and microwave ovens.

There is absolutely no reason to worry that criminals will run short of firearms , they have plenty and have had plenty since they were invented.

I can't imagine a law being restrictive enough to actually reduce the black market availibility of firearms, without also being invasive and disruptive enough to hobble the lives of honest citizens.
