Hmmmmm.......termites
« on: July 30, 2008, 06:06:01 AM »
Australia - Lost in the rocky, remote Australian Outback, a former pest exterminator faced dehydration and death. Desperate for food, he turned to what he knew best — bugs, he said Wednesday.

Theo Rosmulder, 52, managed to survive for four days by feasting on termites and other insects before local Aborigines happened upon him Tuesday and brought him back to civilization.

I can see eating termites, but 'feasting' on them? No, one does not 'feast' on bugs. I think feasting implies sauces, roués, truffles, saffron and other spices.

Eventually, of course, if people continue to reproduce at the current insane rate, we will have to realize that bugs can convert inedible stuff into protein faster than any other organisms on this planet.

Eat bugs or die. It's perhaps the most inconvenient truth of all, and it's not that far off.

He never mentioned his favourite way of preparing them.  Gotta wait for the book to come out.

Termites are a good source of food. For every pound of human on this planet there is over 100 pounds of termites.

Virtually all fruits and vegetables have insects in them. Where do you think fruit flies come from? The eggs are laid while it is still a flower, then the larva eat some of the fruit until they work their way out as flies.
