Cya!
« on: November 16, 2012, 11:59:29 AM »
Hostess Brands, the bankrupt maker of Twinkies and Ho Hos, said on Friday that it plans to shut down its operations after the Employees Union could not agree to...labor concessions.

"We deeply regret the necessity of today's decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike," Gregory F. Rayburn, Hostess' chief executive, said in a statement. He added that the vast majority of its 18,500 employees would be laid off.

Hostess' advisers will soon begin to shut down the company's 33 bakeries and 565 distribution centers.

Probably an idle threat. Management is probably trolling for a buyout, waiting for Mitt or some other corporate vulture to swoop down and cut a deal.

Hostess has lost its customer base due to a lack of producing what people want to buy.

I don't eat Wonder Bread, I don't buy Twinkies or Ho-Hos, and I bet no one else here does, either.

I shop at the hostess outlet store. Nice lady works there. Shame if they shut it down.
Don't know what unions have against poor black women.

May all members of the far right, aka those who should be exterminated, diet exclusively on Hostess cupcakes and die young of heart disease, obesity, and diabetes.

Indeed.  One does have to scratch their head

There's a myth about the peaceful ways of Buddhists. Yes, they are against violence. Yes they are mindful of their words and actions. However, they are encouraged to nip in the bud inappropriate actions and words of others that directly influence their fellow man in a negative fashion. The far right in this country is at it's core a negative influence. I would be one piss poor Buddhist if I gave the far right a pass.

Now, who is the far right? Well it's kinda like what someone once said about pornography. You know it when you see it. I know the far right when I see it.

P.S. BTW, those on the far right are not fellow Americans. They, as far as I'm concerned, aren't Americans at all.

P.P.S CU, no need to send me that HOLIDAY gift. I have an extensive Buddhist library that covers from floor to ceiling a 19' long wall. And I've read every book in it.

I don't think anyone is going anywhere Kimba. I was hopefull when I first saw the post but alas that would have been to good to be true.

Now, if you meant that humorously Kimba, very good. I like it.

I'm pretty sure Kimba wasn't referring to Cu4.  The pictures were a pretty dead give-away.  Sorry B, you've been foiled again

A Cup of Tea

Nan-in, a Japanese master during the Meiji era (1868-1912),
received a university professor who came to inquire about Zen.

Nan-in served tea. He poured his visitor's cup full, and then kept on pouring.

The professor watched the overflow until he no longer could restrain himself.
"It is overfull. No more will go in!"

"Like this cup," Nan-in said, "you are full of your own opinions and speculations.
How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?"

I think we all knew that, Kimba.  B was just using your post in an immature attempt to trash someone he doesn't like....you know, demonstrating more examples of that wonderous liberal tolerance to diverging opinions we're always hearing about

I bought the last 2 10 packs of Twinkies on the shelf at the local Hostess Outlet. Everything is on sale at 1/2 price. The store was packed.

I’m not big on sweets but i figured i would stock up on Twinkies so when the grandkids are old enough to watch Zombieland they would have a better understanding of the quest.
