if you think about the history of war globally the concept of POW is unusual meaning we really should be glad the Taliban takes prisoners.

Barak Obama just released Islamic terrorists from GITMO

Barak Obama just released Islamic terrorists from GITMO, exchanging the murderers for a soldier who ended up in enemy hands five years ago amidst unexplained circumstances. Obama glowingly suggests now that he succeeded in negotiating with terrorists to seal the deal, violating America's agreement with our allies that we would not be so reckless, short-sighted and stupid as to negotiate with terrorists, and now these Islamists' who hate us are free to go about their business of killing us. Meanwhile, we have a U.S. Marine detained in Mexico who is ignored by Obama, it's like someone said: "our Marine is the ONLY one Obama won't let cross the border." Obama needs to hop on Air Force One and visit our neighbors to the south to seal THAT deal because surely the Commander-in-Chief lives up to his word and 230 years of U.S. Military ethos promising we "leave no one behind."

This feel-good story doesn't feel real good, America. The timing of this is to distract from the VA scandals and other Obama Error disasters. Now more than ever we need a cornerstone of our democracy to do its job and get the answers to what the devil is going on in the White House. Media, that would be you. You prove yourselves idiots if you take for an answer that there's nothing amiss on this one either, "not even a smidgen."

As for the released soldier, let''s hope he can enjoy his freedom back home. It would be wonderful for him to make it back to Idaho in time for Father's Day. Perhaps around a traditional all-American barbeque for pops, he can convince his dad there's no need to continue his anti-American rants that tear the fabric of the flag to which his son pledged allegiance.

See this article for more on that:

White House Breaks the Law Releasing These Gitmo Terrorists, Of Course Claims "Exigent Circumstances"

These concerns were passed on to me today. There will be much follow up on this very concerning situation, if the media does it's job. Let's have faith that light will shine truth in all this, via media or elected Republican leaders who are now asking questions about the Obama Administration's continual disregard for law. What do you think?

The current Democrat administration has just released the 5 most dangerous detainees held at Gitmo in exchange for Army SGT Bowe Bergdahl. The terrorists which Obama approved for release are high ranking Taliban leaders and are responsible for murdering countless Americans (these 5 are also credited with forging working relationships with the terror group Al Qaeda in a joint effort to slaughter as many Americans as possible).

So let's get this straight, Democrats admit to breaking the law, again, (with justification of course) all in an effort to free Islamic butchers so they can pick up where they left off in terrorizing and murdering Americans and innocents around the globe.

I've been to the beautiful state of Idaho many times; t'was born there.
Can't recall EVER thinking it was much like Afghanistan.

Sarah Palin seems to believe that she can visit Idaho and tell that it does not resemble Afghanistan. To say this and be taken seriously, would she not have to know what all of Idaho and all of Afghanistan are like? Both are mountainous, both have arid, flat desertlike areas.

Every government always negotiates with terrorists or what happens result in massacres. I think Putin refused when some Chechens took over a theatre filled with Russians. Putin refused to negotiate and tried an assault and a huge number of people got killed.

If we call these guys "The Taliban Five" it will make them sound really mean.  GRRR!

Abandoning a deserter is a tricky move because supposed it undermines the need for  the takiban to keeps prisoners later on.

P.S. Five prisoners  for one  sounds to like a strategy. Meaning  supposed we wanted those prisoners to be taken meaning maybe those five have been place in a very control interrigation so whatever information gleamed on them will advantageous for thier release.

Just saying

Do we dare discuss the lives lost when trying to locate this deserter?   7 Americans,  I do believe

.....and then add to that those soldiers who died trying to apprehend the 5 terrorists, we just gave up for this deserter, rendering their sacrifice for this country, moot.  How many deaths would we be up to now, on account of Bowe?

what I`ve read so far stated the not taking the deserter back would harm us and nothing has stated releasing those prisoner will cause harm to us. in fact no objection has been noted by the military who had detained them. I`ll state it differently releasing the prisoner maybe of help to us in the long run. it totally up to the taliban to trust those five to be giving correct information of thier capture

Of course, this is going to be seen as partisan, but the problem with this whole Bowe debacle is that it wreaks with both overt politics, in trying to change the subject from the VA, and the ongoing demonstration that this president cares not a whiff of our laws and constitutional parameters set in place.

This could have been done long ago, if they really wanted him released.  But not only is the timing wholly too coincidental with Obama's latest leadership failure, as it relates to the VA, he again undermines our laws, bypassing telling Congress anything, and releasing 5 HIGH, yes HIGH ranking AlQeada terrorists, for what is literally a deserter.  Not some innocent soldier, captured while trying to save fellow soldiers.  Not some soldier who demanded he be exchanged for innocent civilians about to be killed.  Not some soldier, who was frantically trying to find aide to a wounded comrade, and got caught in the process.  No, he left his post.....got tired of playing soldier, and simply up and left to find some Afghani company.

And our soldiers not only died trying to "rescue him", since they didn't realize he had simply deserted, but those soldiers who gave their lives in taking down the terrorists we just handed back, smacks with just the right amount of blow-back that I don't think Obama was ready or willing to deal with

nothing has stated releasing those prisoner will cause harm to us.

President Obama:

"Is there the possibility of some of them trying to return to activities that are detrimental to us? Absolutely.

That's been true of all the prisoners that were released from Guantanamo. There is a certain rate that takes place."

These guys were Taliban, not Al Qaeda. were arrested 12 years ago on suspicion and held against th4eor will with no trial. Now they are 12 years older and will be supervised by Qatar and there are always surveillance drones.

It is important to bring all POWs home, and probably this will prove to be a wise choice. To the right wingers, President Obama never makes a wise choice. And yet two wars are mostly over and the Stock market is at a record high.
