Tacking back towards the point of the topic, I also feel sorry for the GOP, and the citizenry as well, in that given the current circumstances surrouding this President, his policies, the mounthing threat of ISIS, the mounting dysfunction of federal agencies, like the CDC, and the Democrat owned Unaffordable Care Act, which completely dismantled this country's health system, while increasing premiums and unnecessary add-ons to new policies.....given all that, if the GOP can't win back the Senate, its a sad state of affairs for not just the GOP, but the country as a whole.
2012 was a Republican Presidential race to lose. Obama didn't win, the GOP ran a poor campaign and lost it. Literally grasping a loss from the jaws of victory Yes, there was the MSM in Obama's back pocket, and Candy Crowly bailing out the President in a nationally televised debate, but the Romney camp lost their focus, and allowed the MSM & the left to portray him as someone who's....just the same as Obama, out of touch with normal run of the mill Americans.
It is absolutely possible that Republicans could do the same thing in 2014....take a winning formula of complete and utter disatisfaction with the Democrat policies that have been implimented, and start to get distracted in trying to defend social issues of gay marriage, abortion, and minimum wage. All are perfectly valid issues, but the focus needs to be on what's currently happening in this country, and WHY we're having all these issues. And hint, it's not that the GOP isn't helping, or even compromising. In fact, the left has no clue what compromise is. Stay focused, and on topic.....debt, economy, job market, exponential growth in government & bureaucracy....and OBAMACARE
