Quick , repeal the law of gravity!
« on: December 31, 2012, 09:44:07 PM »
Wile E. Coyote
Runs far on air after he steps off the edge of the cliff.

Congress and the president must hope for such an effect.

The "fiscal cliff" is an erroneous term, since it only entails a return to a previous tax structure, not an actual collapse of the government.

So , there is a deal.

And it belongs to the president, and his party.

The good side of this is that it is economicly stupid and will place the albatross of truth on the Democrats neck.

The downside is that it is economicly stupid and we must all learn the truth via harsh experience.

A realist is exactly what he and you are not. No one knows what's going to happen. No one knows what kind of an agreement will be reached or what the effects will be. There are a 1000 renditions, guesses, by politicians, economists, and every other Tom, Dick, and Harry, but they are just guesses.

Some people have the courage to live in the unknown and others have to pretend their way to a false sense of security. But the only sure thing is that nothing is sure. There is no security. Nothing about this economy is a sure thing in either a positive or negative direction.

In a closed room at midnight the deal was reached.

The Presidents demands were met , no cuts , no slowing the growth of government.

It is economicly stupid and the President will wear his victory as an albatross .

A realist is exactly what he and you are not.

Actually, that's precisely what we are.  Current rate of spending is mathematically unsustainable....it's Greece squared.  Unless the spending is reigned in, this country is toast.  THAT'S WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN, and punishing "the rich" with higher taxes, while the spending goes unchecked, not only doesn't dent the debt, it simply speeds up the upcoming economic disaster

Close your eyes all you want.  Doesn't make Plane or I unrealists or even economists, it does however make folks like yourself, wholly ignorant, and as Plane accurately deduced, we get to hang this right over Obama's neck, like an albatross

Hanging on the neck , must have been cold comfort to that albatross.

Yes two more years of the same and we might climb past the market point we had when Bush left office.
