maybe the focus should be why companies are doing this .
It doesn't take much of a leap to ascertain the why. Companies stay afloat if they make a profit. The more profit, the more they can exmapnd, hire more employees, improve equipment, and compete with other like companies, thus facilitating a drive to do things better.
when you disincetivize, make things harder, make success a negative, by taxing them more, and regulating them more, you remove the reason for them even functioning. If a business wants to survivie and improve, they have to shift their functions to a more tax friendly enviroment. Unless of course, you get legislators to try and legislate them from doing what supply and demand creates. California is a perfect example. Folks may cite that our population is "growing", but that's not businesses expanding, that's illegal immigrants being given safe haven, and whalaaa, an even greater tax burden on the middle class and businesses.
In fact, I just heard this this AM. California in general, and Los Angeles specifically functions to promote and support largely 3 entities
- Unions
- Developers
- Illegal Immigrants
And its businesses & the middle/upper class which functions as the ATM for the above 3.
