No, Rule One is make sure a gun isn't loaded before you play with it.

Ditto. Though the ones I'm referring to are generally considered universal, as in every gun safety or gun handling course, I've attended, they were the 5 everyone was taught to start off with
1) Treat every weapon as if it were loaded
2) Do not point/aim your weapon at anything you're not willing to destroy
3) Be sure of your target and what's behind it
4) keep your finger off the trigger until you are intending to shoot
5) keep your firearm inaccesible to any unauthorized or untrained individual
If firearm owners were to adhere to thes 5 basic rules, 99.9% of all accidents would be eliminated
