at this point in time i'd have to agree with the 71%

we need to run smart campaigns

no more John McCains

no more horrible, horrible candidates

MINUS ONE (-1), Palin has a leg up on you he he he haw haw haw! Who in their right mind would want to go through the process of running for president and if they succeed be president? If I were her I'd do what she doing (which still helps conservatives) make money with appearances, write book and have a good time. Being POTUS is a thankless over-rated job.

but hell most political office holders & political hacks dont have that role either
she can play an important role in the conservative movement without holding office
i expect her to polish her skills with her new FOX gig & she will then be even more valuable

The 2012 election is far enough off to not know for sure how to answer your question about Palin. If over the next 2-1/2 years she blossoms into a formidable politician then throwing her hat into the Primary could possibly shape the election in the direction conservatives would like. It is possible that she could gain more support between now and the 2012 election, only time will tell. As much as I like Newt I don't think he has a chance. I'm not sure about both Romney or Huckabee's chances either, they might be stale by now. Pay attention to governors Jindal and Pawlenti. Who knows what new charactor might pop up in the next year. Honestly it's too early to tell so all the players need to keep going and we will see how things sort themselves out between now and the election. Getting back to Palin, if we had a really strong #1 and she took on #2 again and if they won the presidency she could slide in 4 to 8 years later as our first female president. Of course you and I will support anybody over your typical Democrat. I mean face it we held our breath and voted for McCain. I really have a feeling though that someone we never thought about will pop up and that person will blow us all away --- a reagan kind of guy. We really need Reagan right now.
